December 5th is the UN’s International Volunteer Day…
For volunteers this represents an opportunity to take stock of the valued work they are involved in and a chance to remind themselves of the challenges they’ve faced and the successes they’ve achieved this year.
For others it is simply a chance to explore ways in which they could volunteer themselves… if that’s you – please do get in touch to discuss VESL’s volunteer projects – you may find yourself widening your horizons in 2013!
“Founded on the values of solidarity and mutual trust, volunteerism transcends all cultural, linguistic and geographic boundaries. By giving their time and skills without expectation of material reward, volunteers themselves are uplifted by a singular sense of purpose.”
The UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, 5th December 2012
